William Cunningham Smith (July 12, 1875 – May 24, 1968) was a provincial politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1921 to 1935 sitting with the United Farmers caucus in government. ==Political career== Smith ran for a seat to the Alberta Legislature in the 1921 Alberta general election. He stood as a United Farmers candidate in the electoral district of Redcliff. The race was hotly contested as Smith faced Speaker of the Assembly Charles Pingle. Smith ran for re-election in the new seat of Empress. Smith faced two other candidates in the election held that year. He won a tight two-way race over Independent candidate E. A.
